报告人Jean-Jacques Gaumet(高迈特教授)

报告人简介:Jean-Jacques Gaumet is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Lorraine (Metz/Nancy, France). He received his PhD in physical chemistry in 1992 from the University of Franche-Comté, Besancon, France. After 16 months of postdoctoral research at the National Institute for Environment and Resources in Tsukuba, Japan in 1993, he got an associate-professor position at the University of Metz in 1993. After being habilitated in 2000, he was appointed full professor in 2006. He once worked as the Vice-President of University of Lorraine (technology transfer) during 2008-2012. He is currently developing research on elaboration of nanomaterials (semi-conductors, carbon dots) by microwave-assisted growth and characterization by mass spectrometry. He is also focusing on sustainability approach, circular economy and societal aspects on materials science. Since 1998, he is developing long term collaborations in USA, China and Northern Africa.


报告内容:We are in the center of an important paradigm shift concerning the limited availability of conventional resources such as fossil fuels and mineral raw materials (critical or non-critical), coupled with exponential population growth, all of which is leading to the potential risk of a worldwide energy and environmental crisis with societal ramifications. This is why the need for a sustainable planet is urgent. During this presentation, we will describe sustainable applications when using various types of biomass waste for producing various materials. Then we will see how recycling computers is a tool for a) improve the use of urban mines, b) give a chance to decrease digital poverty and, c) create opportunities for jobs.

如今世界正处于一个重要的转变时刻,即目前地球上化石燃料和矿物原材料等常规资源均受到有限可用性的限制,再加上地球人口的指数式增长,这正在导致具有社会影响的全球能源和环境危机的潜在风险,因此,建立可持续发展迫在眉睫。在本讲座中,我们将介绍如何将各种生物质废料进行可持续应用以生产其他材料,并将进一步了解电脑回收如何成为a)改善城市矿山的工具,b)减少数字贫困的机会,以及c)创造就业机会的工具。
