Center for Civic Education to get $17M over three years
The Center for Civic Education has been awarded $17 million to help teachers in the classroom.
On Tuesday, Bakersfield Congressman Kevin McCarthy announced the Center for Civic Education would be receiving the grant, which will be paid out over three years.
He said the money will help ensure teachers have access to training and resources they need to better educate students.
The center's Kern County branch will manage the state's program and is expected to train 150 teachers.
