a. 学院简介 Overview
The School of Fine Arts, founded in 2001, is one of the young and innovative Schools of ZZU. Oriented by our educational philosophy of high starting point, high level, high quality and high goal, the school has been dedicated to the dual work of cultivating professional talents and offering quality instruction to young art learners over the past 17 years. By fully absorbing and creatively integrating the teaching philosophies and methodologies in the national key School of Fine Arts, constantly exploring the educational laws of teaching fine arts that meet the needs of the 21st century, we have gradually formed the current school size, features and advantages. We have been constantly expanding ouracademic and social popularity and influence, thus hewing out a new educational prospect with enormous momentum.
The School of Fine Arts boasts of five departments: Chinese Painting, Oil Painting, Sculpture, Art & Design and Arts History, which constitute a comprehensive system of fine arts, with the “Central Plains Arts” characteristic and preponderant discipline (direction) at the core, thus further protruding our comprehensive strength of discipline. Now, ourschoolhas two first-level master’s programs in Fine Arts and Arts. Particularly, master’s degree program in Fine Arts has been voted into the Ninth Henan Province First-Level Key Disciplines. Our three undergraduate programs--painting, sculpture and visual communication cover five academic directions---Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, visual communication, and animation. “Central Plains Arts” was voted into the Preponderant and Characteristic Disciplines (Direction) Key Construction Project of ZZU. In December 2016, “the Fourth Seminar on Central Plains Arts” Discipline Construction was successfully held in our school. In April 2017, SFA hosted “the Fourth Chinese Postgraduate in Art Discipline Educational Alliance Conference”. From 2016 to 2017, the China Postgraduates Seminar on Central Plains Arts was held twice in our school. The construction of preponderant and characteristic disciplines (direction) of “Central Plains Arts” has been marching ahead steadily.
The School of Fine Arts currently has established the following nine research and practice centers: the Central Plains Base for Research Center of National Colleges and Universities Art Teaching, the Research Base of Henan Cultural Industry Development, the first batch of Co-construction units for Collaborative Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Chinese Art Undergraduates, the Ceramic Art Institute of ZZU, the Realistic Painting Research Institute of ZZU, Chinese Painting Research Center of ZZU, Folk Art Research Center of ZZU, ZZU Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base, ZZU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration Base. In 2017, ourschoolwas also chosen as the first “National Educational Base for Art Colleges”.
The school of Fine Arts boasts of a strong faculty team, with 49 staff members and 42 teachers, including 8 professors, 10 associate professors, 14 master supervisors. With regards to the educational background, 11 faculty members are PhDs; 4 lecturers are doctoral candidates; and 9 teachers have studied abroad. Overall, our middle-aged and young teachers with higher education background and excellent professional and teaching skills make up the main teaching and researching force of the school. Particularly, Prof. Wei Xiaojie and Prof. Zhang Kuanwu were honored as "Four Batches of Talents” of Henan Province. Prof. Li Yichun was elected into the expert database of “the Eleventh National Art Exhibition". Prof. Wei Xiaojie, Prof.Wu Jian, and Prof. Wang Xiaoyu were voted as the Science and technology leaders of Henan Provincial Department of Education. Many other educators of SFA have ever won the honorary titles of “My Favorite Teacher” in ZZU
The school of Fine Arts has successfully held several high-level art exhibitions and seminars. In July 2015, “Mount Songshan’s lingering Charm (Song Yue Yi Yun in Pinyin), – Teachers’ Works Exhibition of Fine Arts School of ZZU” was held in China Art Museum in Beijing. It is the first time that colleges and universities in Henan Province have ever held an exhibition in China Art Museum. In addition, our school also hosted the following national art exhibitions and seminars: Exploration – Innovation Chinese Young and Middle-aged Sculptors Invitational Exhibition, Embracing Differences- Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition in Central China, National Art and Design Discipline Academic Seminar, Elegant Art into the Campus - China Art Exhibition Tour, Fine Arts and Design PhDs Association of Henan Art Colleges - Central Plains Higher Art Education Forum, etc. Our teaching and research work of Fine Arts is very fruitful. We were shortlisted for or won more than 100 awards of national and provincial academic exhibitions and competitions, published more than 80 academic monographs, textbooks and picture books, and over 200 academic papers. Such a magnificent honorscape has brought us high reputation and positive academic impact nationwide. More specifically, Associate Professor Zhang Guoqiang’s oil painting---“Emperor Wuding’s Heyday (Wu Ding Qiang Sheng in Pinyin)” was awarded as the “Creative Project of Historical Themes of Chinese Civilization” displayed and stored by China National Museum in 2016. This is the first time that an artist from Henan Province has ever won such an award. In addition, “Chinese Contemporary Art System (1949-1989)”, the research project by Associate Professor Li Zhaoxia won National Social Science Foundation Project in 2016. In 2014, the research application for Humanities and Social Science Project by Prof. Wang Xiaoyu was approved by the Ministry of Education. Other art works by our faculty members including Wei Xiaojie, Mao Na, Li Yichun, Xie Shaobo, Zhao Jin, Meng Lan, Zhang Guoqiang, Li Hongwu have been selected for the National Art Exhibition and won different levels of academic awards for many times. A substantial number of sculptures by our teachers were showcased in the Beijing Olympic Shooting Museum, Tianjin Humanities Park, Erdos World Sculpture Park, Huaiyin China Maternal Love Sculpture Park and other Chinese cities. Associate Professor Zhang Guoqiang’s solo exhibition was also held in China Art Museum. Prof. Wu Jian held his sole exhibition at Peking University.
The influence of our social activity has been greatly enhanced as a result of our faculty members’ active participation in various public professional activities. Prof. Wei Xiaojie, serves as Member of the National Urban Sculpture Steering Committee, Vice Chairman of the Association of Artists in Henan Province, Member of the 12th Henan Standing Committee of the CPPCC, Vice Chairman of the Central Plains Division of Science and Creative Art Alliance of China and a member of Expert Advisory Committee for Academy of Literary & Art, CFLAC as well as Dean of Academy of Henan Jiu San Calligraphy and Painting. Prof. Mao Na and Prof. Li Yichun from the Department of Oil Painting are directors of Henan Artists Association. Prof. Wang Guojian, serves as a director of Oil Painting Department, Vice Chairman of Henan Oil Painting Art Research Association and Executive Director of Beijing Contemporary Chinese Enjoyable Oil Painting Institute. Prof. Mao Na and Associate Prof. Zhang Guoqiang also serve as executive directors of Henan Oil Painting Art Research Association. Prof. Xie Shaobo, director of Sculpture Department，is also Executive Vice President of Henan Sculpture Association. Prof. Wang Xiaoyu, director of Art & Design Department, acts as the Deputy Secretary General of Henan Packaging Technology Association.
The school of Fine Arts is equipped with advanced teaching and researching facilities, such as a sculpture studio, a pottery studio, a painting material studio, a traditional Chinese painting copy room, a photography studio, a decoration studio, a professional library reading room and a multi-functional lecture hall and a comprehensive exhibition hall with an area of nearly 2,000 square meters. All of these create a relaxing and comfortable learning environment and artistic atmosphere for teachers and students. At present, we have 616 undergraduate students and 76 postgraduate students. Each year, our students receive a significant number of awards at provincial and national exhibitions and professional competitions. The art works of undergraduates--- Li Leilei and Liu Bei whose major is sculpture were selected for the Eleventh National Art Exhibition. Cui Shiliang, Song Yanjie, Feng Yanpeng, Yan Yi and many other students’ art works won the National University Students Art Performance Awards. Particularly, our students in Sculpture program have won lots of awards in different levels of competitions and, including Liu Kaiqu Award, International Sculpture Exhibition, the National Outstanding Sculpture Exhibition of University Graduates, and Public Visual Arts Biennial Exhibition of College Students. Further, many students’ sculptures are permanently displayed in Wuhu, Shanghai, Beijing and other Chinese major cities. The employment rate of students has been continuing to maintain a high level, coherently more than 90% for many years. The majority of our graduates enjoys a good reputation and has become a vital team in Henan province and even in China's fine arts career. They keep contributing to the development of our society with their intelligence and industriousness.
Our school also pays great attention to the exchanges and study of foreign art and culture. It has established a positive relationship of exchanges and cooperation with universities in many countries and regions, including the United States, Japan, Russia, Australia, Republic of Korea and Chinese Taiwan etc. Our partnership efforts with foreign universities have been expanding each year. Through exchanges with domestic and foreign academic institutions, our school has organized and sponsored many academic activities and seminars home and abroad. Specifically, we have successfully organized three international conferences on Art, Design, and Contemporary Education (ICADCE 2015, 2016 and 2017) with Russian Academy of Special Arts and Russian Center for International Scientific and Cultural Exchanges. In 2016, we signed a collaboration agreement with Korean Artists Association. With 17 years of unremitting efforts, the School of Fine Arts has fashioned a culture of unity, diligence, pragmatism and efficiency. It has established scientific and effective educational programs, gained numerous achievements, and become a widely influential art group with outstanding strength and popularity in Central Plains of China. Now, our school as a whole looks vigorous, upright, driving and confident with a bright prospect. We are striving for high quality in teaching, high levels in scientific research and art creation and high standards in management in order to make positive contributions to First-Class ZZU construction.

绘画（中国画、油画）专业 Painting (Chinese Painting and Oil Painting)
This major seeks to cultivate students’ basic theoretical and practical skills of oil painting and Chinese painting. It aims to develop students’ innovative thinking, innovative ability, entrepreneurial ability, aesthetic literacy and other basic skills such as art design, art teaching, and art theory research. Students who successfully complete the programs can work in various fiends including art creation, art publishing, creative industries, art research organizations, news publishing units, and educational institutions.

雕塑专业Sculpture
This major aims to develop students’ basic theoretical and practical skills of modern sculpture design. It also seeks to cultivate students’ innovative thinking, sculpturing ability, entrepreneurial ability, aesthetic literacy and other skills such as sculptural design, art teaching, and research. Student who successfully complete the programs can work in fields of sculpture design, art research institutions, news publishing units, colleges and universities.

Students who successfully complete programs can work in art and design departments, art research institutions, news publishing units, universities, and art and design industries.

b) 动画方向Animation Direction
This academic direction seeks tocultivate students’ basic theoretical and practical skills in filming and television animation. It also aims to develop students’ aesthetic sense and skills including film and television animation creation, animation teaching, research, and multimedia design. This direction covers various knowledge in 3D animation, digital video and video, multimedia technology, web design. Students who successfully complete programs can work in fields of filming and television, 2D and 3D animation production, games design, commercial productions, applied art production, computer simulation, film editing, television special effects, multimedia CD production, and web design.
