Call for Papers (BIC-TA18)

Advances on theory and application for bio-inspired swarm and evolutionary computations (BIC-TA18)

I. Objective of the Special Issue

This special issue aims to collect submissions by two routes: (1) Invited Papers from the selected conference papers after expanding substantially from BIC-TA 2018, and (2) Open Call-for-papers from the advances on the theory and application for Bio-inspired swarm and evolutionary computations research fields. Whatever type of submissions should present in-depth fundamental research contributions either from a methodological perspective or from an application point of view.

The 13th International Conference on Bio-inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA 2018) will be held on 2nd-4th, November, 2018, in Beijing,

China. BIC-TA 2018 is the thirteenth annual event in the high-reputation BIC-TA series. BIC-TA 2018 aims to provide a high-level international forum for researchers working in the field of bio-inspired computing to present their recent results and to exchange ideas.

II. Themes

The topics of this special issue include two aspects. First, contributions on

bio-inspired Swarm and evolutionary computations methodologies and theories are very welcome. Second, contributions on applications of bio-inspired swarm and evolutionary computations are also welcome.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

· Ant Colony Optimization;

· Artificial Bee Colony;

· Artificial Life and Artificial Immune Systems;

· Brain-inspired and Brain-like Computation;

· Cellular Automata;

· Differential Evolution;

· DNA, Molecular and Membrane Computing;

· Evolutionary Computation;

· Hybrid Intelligent Systems;

· Intelligent Agents;

· Memetic Computing;

· Particle Swarm Optimization;

· Quantum computing;

· Random Search Technique;

· Swarm Intelligence;

· Tabu Search;

· Other Cross-disciplinary Topics in SI&EC.

III. Submission Format and Guidelines

Papers will be evaluated based on their originality, presentation, relevance and contribution to the development or application of Bio-inspired Computing, as well as their suitability and quality in terms of both technical contributions and written presentation. The submitted papers must be written in good English and describe original research which has not been published nor is currently under review by other journals or conferences.

Submission to this special issue is by two routes: (1) Invited Papers, and (2) Open Call-for-papers.

(1) Extended versions of selected best papers from BIC-TA 2018 (The 13th International Conference on Bio-inspired Computing: Theories and Applications)will be invited for consideration by the guest editors. Such submissions should be clearly identified by the authors and, with respect to the original conference version, a significant amount of additional and different materials and information should be included and clearly described in the manuscript.

(2) An open call-for-papers (CFPs) will be publicized in the Bio-inspired computing community. The papers should be submitted online through the manuscript submission system of the Swarm and Evolutionary Computations. The submission website is:

https://www.evise.com/profile/api/navigate/SWEVO. The Journal’s submission system will be open for submissions to our Special Issue from 15 September 2018.

When submitting your manuscript please select the article type “VSI: BIC-TA18”.

Please submit your manuscript before 15 December 2018. Information and guidelines on preparation of manuscripts are available on the journal website:
