Competition on Single Objective Optimization in IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation 2023


Aim

   Research on the single objective optimization algorithms is the basis of the research on the more complex optimization algorithms such as multi-objective optimizations algorithms, niching algorithms, constrained optimization algorithms and so on. All new evolutionary and swarm algorithms are tested on single objective benchmark problems. In addition, these single objective benchmark problems can be transformed into dynamic, niching composition, computationally expensive and many other classes of problems. For this competition, we are developing benchmark problems with several novel features such as novel basic problems, composing test problems by extracting features dimension-wise from several problems, graded level of linkages, rotated trap problems, and so on.

   This competition is directed by the Intelligent Optimization and Scheduling Professional Committee of China Simulation Society, and cosponsored by the Computational Intelligence Laboratory of Zhengzhou University and SOYOTEC Technologies Corp. The aim of this competition is to test the algorithms fairly, and automatically online. The competitors submit their algorithms through the online competition system. All the algorithms are tested in the same cloud platform. The competition system has been embedded anti-cheating function. Furthermore, the ranking and scores will be published automatically as soon as the algorithms are executed. In the past, the algorithms are executed by the authors themselves. It is difficult to judge whether they cheated. The ranking and scores need be calculated and arranged by the organizer. The highlights of this competition are unbiased, intelligent and automatic online competition.


Scope

    This special session is devoted to the approaches, algorithms and techniques for solving real parameter single objective optimization without making use of the exact equations of the test functions. We encourage all researchers to test their algorithms on the CEC’20 test suite which includes 10 benchmark functions before the official competition. These test questions can be downloaded from the attachment. For CEC’23, the participants are required to upload their algorithms to the competition platform. The results and ranking will also be displayed on the competition platform. Papers on novel concepts that help us in understanding problem characteristics are also welcome. The official competition website of CEC’23 can be obtained from the following link: WebLink


Submissions (Results&Paper)


Results

    Please test your algorithm on the test problems in “CEC2023 SMO”. The results, codes, and the description for your algorithm and results need to be submitted to the competition platform provided by SOYOTEC Technologies Corp. We will present an overall analysis and comparison based on these results.

    When submitting papers, please make sure that you select “Single Objective Optimization” as the "Main Research Topic" for all papers making use of these benchmarks.

We will follow the extended deadlines as determined by CEC 2023. If you require extra time, you can email us ( zzuyuecaitong@163.com). Accepted papers will be included and published in the conference proceedings.
