报告题目:Smart materials technology to achieve carbon net zero and future prosperity
报告人:S. Ravi P. Silva
内容介绍:The world needs to go to net carbon zero by 2050 to create a sustainable future for all humanity. The need for reductions in green house gas emissions, and thus to control rising global temperatures is becoming ever more urgent. The continued increase in green house gases is primarily driven by the increased use of energy, and these being dominated by fossil fuel supplies, worldwide.
We will cover some of the key innovations in solar energy provision and printed electronics that make it one of the most versatile forms of ubiquitous routes for not only large scale utility, but also to power the billions of IoT devices expected in modern society. In advanced societies, better and more flexible routes to monitor both buildings and humans are necessary. To achieve this non-invasively with sustainability in mind, nano-scale designs of materials and systems are being developed. A future with energy materials innovation based on plastic electronics will enable a better standard of living to support modern society, and improved quality of life in everyday activities in a sustainable manner.
