报告人简介：

杜一宏，澳大利亚新英格兰大学教授，主要从事非线性椭圆型和抛物型偏微分方程、自由边界问题、非线性泛函分析及其应用等领域的研究工作。目前，在Arch. Rational Mech. Anal., SIAM J. Math. Anal., J. Funct. Anal., J. European Math. Soc., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., J. Differ. Equations, Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ., J. Math. Pures Appl. 等国际期刊发表论文一百余篇。兼任“Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications”副主编，“Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems -Series S" 编委等。

报告摘要：

This talk will discuss some of the mathematical theories on nonlinear partial differential equations motivated by the desire of providing better models for various propagation phenomena. It will start by looking at the classical works of Fisher, Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov and Aronson-Weinberger, and compare them with some recent results on models with free boundaries. Several new trends of research in this direction will be considered.
