报告人简介：
张进，本科、硕士就读于武汉大学，博士就读于美国匹兹堡大学，曾在武汉大学工作多年，现任美国威斯康辛大学密尔沃基分校教授，美国信息科学与技术委员会（ASIS&T）威斯康辛地区主席，十多家期刊编委。
张教授研究兴趣广泛，在信息检索理论、算法、可视化，数据挖掘，社会网络分析，社交媒体，知识系统评价，元数据，搜索引擎评价，用户健康信息，数字图书馆，人机交互设计等方面有着深入的研究和丰富的科研成果。他曾获得中国和美国的国家级省部级科研项目资助10多项，发表学术期刊论文和会议论文150余篇，出版学术专著5部，获得奖励20余项，曾多次获得最佳论文奖和优秀教师称号。
报告主要观点：
中文：混合研究方法在研究设计中同时使用定量研究方法和定性研究方法。他们利用定量和定性研究方法的优势来解决研究中的复杂研究问题。由于这些特性，混合研究方法的应用已成为信息科学领域研究的一种趋势。本讲座从多个角度介绍混合研究方法。它涵盖了混合研究方法的范式，实施过程，其实施策略以及实际的应用示例。该讲座将帮助研究人员，教育工作者和研究生了解混合研究方法的基础知识，并阐明它们在研究中的应用。
英文：Mixed research methods use both quantitative research methods and qualitative research methods in a research design. They take advantages of both quantitative and qualitative research methods to address complicated research problems in a study. Due to the characteristics, the applications of mixed research methods have become a trend of research studies in information science. This lecture introduces mixed research methods from multiple perspectives. It covers from the paradigms of mixed research methods, to the implementation procedure, to their implementation strategies, and to real application examples. The lecture will help researchers, educators, and graduate students understand the fundamentals of mixed research methods and shed light on their applications in research studies.
