郑州大学中国外交话语研究院，前身为郑州大学中国外交话语研究中心，成立于2016年9月，是郑州大学在全球化和中国快速崛起背景下为适应中国特色大国外交战略需求和学校“双一流”建设而精心打造的高端学术研究机构。2017年3月，教育部长江学者特聘教授、浙江大学文科资深教授、国务院学位委员会外国文学学科评议组召集人许钧为研究院成立揭牌，并给予了高度评价，认为中国外交话语研究研究院的成立国内首家，非要重要，恰逢其时。2017年12月，中心策划、召开了“全国首届外交话语及外事外交翻译学术研讨会暨全国首届外事外交翻译大赛”，成功创建全国首个在线外交话语平行语料库、外交术语库，揭牌成立河南省高端外事翻译人才培养基地，受到外交部、中联部、中央编译局、中国外文局等国家部委和高等院校专家的充分肯定。中国外文局原副局长、国际译联前副主席、中国翻译协会常务副会长、中国翻译研究院副院长、全国翻译研究生专业学位教指委主任黄友义，表示“郑州大学中国外交话语研究研究院在（外交话语研究）这方面起到了很好的带头作用，值得赞扬”。研究院在外交话语、外交语言和外事外交翻译研究方面处于领先水平和前沿阵地。研究院依托杨明星教授主持的国家社科基金重大项目《中国特色大国外交的话语构建、翻译和传播研究》（编号：17ZDA318），重点研究中国特色大国外交话语体系建设。研究院立足中国外交话语建设现状和外事翻译工作实际，采用外交学、国际关系学、社会语言学、翻译学、跨文化交际、传播学和修辞学等跨学科、超学科的研究视角，系统研究中国外交核心话语的构建、翻译与传播规律，积极探索外交语言学、外交翻译学和外交传播学的理论构建和学科建设，推动中国特色外交话语体系的理论与实践创新。未来将尽快把研究院培育成外交话语协同创新中心、省级人文社科重点研究基地、国家新型高端智库和外事翻译高层次人才培养基地，为提高国家话语质量、传播好中国声音、提升中国国际话语权和对外形象提供政策咨询和决策参考。中国外交话语研究研究院目前正致力于讲好中国故事，讲好中原历史文化故事，讲好郑大“双一流”建设故事。

The Center for Chinese Diplomatic Discourse Studies (CCDDS)

Against the background of globalization and China's rapid development，the Center for Chinese Diplomatic Discourse Studies at Zhengzhou University (ZZU) was established in September 2016. As a high-end academic research institution, it is forged to meet the strategic demands of Major-Country Diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and the "Double-First Class" construction of ZZU. In March 2017, Xu Jun, Ministry of Education’s Yangtze Scholar Distinguished Professor，Senior Professor of Liberal Arts in Zhejiang University and Leader of the State Council Degree Committee Foreign Linguistic and Literary Review Group, attended the unveiling ceremony and highly appraised the significance of the center. In December 2017, the Center planned and held the "the First National Symposium on Diplomatic Discourse and Foreign Affairs Translation and the First Foreign Affairs Translation Contest", successfully set up China's first online diplomatic discourse parallel corpus, diplomatic terminology database and a provincial training base for high-end foreign affairs translation talents, which have been fully affirmed by the experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CPC International Liaison Department , the Central Bureau of Compilation and Translation, China Foreign Languages Publishing Bureau as well as from national colleges and universities. Huang Youyi, former Deputy Director-General of China Foreign Languages Publishing Bureau, former Vice-Chairman of the International Translation Federation, Executive Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Translation Association, Vice-President of the Chinese Translation Academy and Director of the National MTI Educational Instruction Commission, argued that “the Center for Chinese Diplomatic Discourse Studies of ZZU has fully played a leading role in the studies of diplomatic discourses and is highly commendable.” The Center is at the leading and frontier position in the study of diplomatic discourse, language and its translation. Relying on Professor Yang Xingxing's Major Project of National Social Science Fund “Research on Discourse Construction, Translation and Communication of Major-country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics”(No.17ZDA318), the Center focuses its research areas on the construction of the Major-country Diplomatic Discourse System with Chinese characteristics. Based on the current situation of diplomatic discourse construction and the practice of foreign affairs translation in China, the Center adopted a cross-disciplinary and even trans-disciplinary research perspective ranging from Diplomacy, International Relations, Sociolinguistics, Translatology, Intercultural Communication to Rhetoric and so on, and commits itself to the systematical research on the construction and translation of Chinese diplomatic discourses and their transmission laws. And it will also actively explore the theoretical and disciplinary construction of Diplomatic Linguistics, Diplomatic Translatology and Diplomatic Communication, and promote innovations of diplomatic discourse system with Chinese characteristics both theoretically and practically. In order to improve the quality of Chinese discourses, disseminate the voice of China and promote the international discursive power and image of China, the center will be forged as a diplomatic discourse collaborative innovation platform, a provincial-level humanities and social sciences key research base, a new national high-end think tanks and talents training base for foreign affairs translation in the near future. At present, it is devoting itself to telling the story of China, the historical and cultural story of Henan as well as the story of “Double-First Class” construction of Zhengzhou University.
