报告人简介：

Xiaoping Liu received his B.Sc. Degree in automation from Northeastern University (China) in 1984, his M. Sc. Degree and Ph. D. degree in Control Theory and Applications from Northeastern University (China) in 1987 and 1989, respectively. From 1989 to 2000, he was with the Department of Automatic Control at Northeastern University (China). He joined Lakehead University as an Associate Professor in 2001. He is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Lakehead University and a visiting professor at Shandong Jianzhu University.

He is an outstanding professor of "Cheung Kong Scholars" (1999). He is a member of the editorial board of Complexity (2018-present), a member of the editorial board of International Journal of Systems, Control and Communications (2008-present), and Associate Editor of International Journal of Control Theory and Applications (2007-present). He was a member of the editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Automation (1999-2002), a member of the editorial board of Control and Decision (2001-2004), a member of IFAC technical committee on Large-Scale Systems (1999-2002), and a member of the Control Theory committee of Chinese Association of Automation (1994-1999).

Prof. Liu’s research activities have been carried out in several areas around advanced control systems and applications, including singular systems, nonlinear systems, adaptive control, and mobile robots. Prof. Liu is active and productive on performing both theoretic research and applications, which results in more than 120 peer reviewed international journal publications.
