On 18th May, 2019, an International Workshop on Ethical Governance on Advanced Therapies was held by the Academy of Medical Sciences of ZZU. The workshop was chaired by Professor Nick Lemoine, Dean of the Academy and foreign academician of CAE. Mr. Zhenqing Gu, Vice President of ZZU delivered a welcome speech.

Dr. Monika Preuss, Head of Genomics Science and Emerging Technologies at Department of Health & Social Care of UK, Professor Bobbie Farsides from  Brighton and Sussex Medical School of University of Sussex of UK, Hugh Whittall, Director of Nuffield Council on Bioethics of UK, Ainsley Newson, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of Sydney Health Ethics at University of Sydney of Australia, Dr. Haihong Zhang from Peking University Human Research Protection Program, Hui Jiang from Zhangzhou Hospital of Fujian Medical University and Shi Tao from Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital (1st Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University) presented their recent work.

The workshop demonstrated the significance AMS has attached to research ethics and integrity. It provided a platform for communication and exchange which can enhance the research ethics governance at AMS and ZZU.
