Tencent, one of China’s top three companies, is known for keeping a low profile while steadily growing its business empire. However, right after the spring festival holiday break, it dropped a bomb-shell by announcing that it would start charging transaction fees when people withdraw money from their Wechat payment accounts.

Topic: Underground photo taking
The Beijing Subway Company’s ban on taking photos inside the system has sparked heated debate. Some newspapers have cited subway employees saying that reasons for prohibiting passengers from taking pictures inside the subway include safety and security: flashed from camera or mobile phones could distract subway drivers and other workers from their work and pose a danger to public security. Someone standing still in the flowing crowds to take a picture could also pose risks to others.

Shenzhen became China’s second largest city to formally regulate street artists in April 2015, when 62 groups of street artists entered a lottery for 36 designated spots in a city square. They could only perform if they have a spot, and on average an art group could perform every other day.
