Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) is established to bring technological innovation in energy and power as well as to ensure energy security through research and development for the country. BEPRC works to seek innovative solutions to meet the needs in energy and power. It provides incubation for researchers through funding and research space to try out new solutions as well as link them with investors – both domestic and foreign – to disseminate their findings in Bangladesh and throughout the globe. 

The vision of BEPRC is to provide the intellectual leadership to seek innovative solutions for efficient, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable development of Bangladesh’s energy and power infrastructure. The mission of BEPRC is to The Council will provide the platform to attract experts worldwide, and help to create in-country expertise through scientific collaboration.  It will strengthen and mobilize research capabilities at universities, public/private research organizations, and industry practitioners as well as assist individual entrepreneurs to develop applicable technologies and systems for the development of the energy and power sector. 

The council would encourage and coordinate public and private research institutions in carrying out research in the field of Power & Energy; Establishment of research & testing laboratories. Capacity building of researchers through necessary training and higher education; Establish and Maintain close relationship with local and international research institutions on energy and power; arrange seminars, symposiums, workshops to disseminate the results of research activities & its publications etc.

The topics would include the following issues:

      3. Chinese contribution in power sector of Bangladesh

      4. Areas of cooperation between Bangladesh and China in energy and power sector of Bangladesh

演讲人简历

Mohammad Samsher Ali has been the Member (Administration and Finance) of Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) under Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources since March 1, 2018. He joined the Bangladesh civil service (Administration) in January 1986. He worked in wide range of government positions in his long illustrious career. He is a civil servant in Bangladesh who has experiences of working in various sectors of civil administration. He worked as Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate, Assistant Commissioner (Land), Assistant Director (Local Government), Upzila Nirbahi Officer (Sub-District Executive Officer), Cantonment Executive Officer, Additional Deputy  Commissioner of the district, Chef Executive Officer (District Council), Deputy Secretary to the govt. of Bangladesh, Director Bangladesh Jute mills Corporation (BJMC), Joint Secretary to the govt. of Bangladesh before being elevated to the position of Member, Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC). He holds master’s degree in Economics from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He also obtained another master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Northern University, Bangladesh (NUB). In addition, he attended many professional training courses in Bangladesh and foreign countries.

Md. A Zafor Sarker is a Secretary (Deputy Secretary) in Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC). He received his M.sc degree in Fisheries Bangladesh Agricultural University, Maymenshing in 1984. He worked as a District Fisheries Officer in Department of Fisheries Bangladesh. Then he got promotion as deputy secretary and joined in ministry of woman and children affaires. Lately he was posted in BEPRC on attachment and has been servicing here till now.
