Brief introduction:
Jianfeng Cai isaPreeminent and Distinguished University Professorat the University of South Florida. He received his BS and MS from Nanjing University in 1997 and 2000, respectively. After obtaining his PhD from Washington University in St. Louis in 2006, he did his postdoctoral research at Yale Universityfrom 2007 to 2009. He joined the USFin 2009 as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2015 and full professor in 2018. His current research interest includes designing and synthesizing peptidomimetics that mimic the structure and function of proteins/peptides, and developing antimicrobial, anti-cancer, and anti-Alzheimer's disease agents.So far, he has published more than200 papers in journals, includingPNAS,Sci. Adv.,Nature Commun.,J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Angew. Chem.,J. Med. Chem.,with an H-index of52.He is an author or co-author of25patentsand six chapters. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Medicine and Biotechnology (AIMBE)andthe Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).
